Super Hero Half Marathon

Update (5/16): Read race report here.
I’ve registered for the Super Hero Half Marathon and Relay, which will be held on May 16th in Morris Township, NJ. In an unexpected twist, I will be running the relay with my arch rival Flyers26. Usually, we are competing against each other. This time, we will be teaming up to run the race which benefits the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. I say that we will be teaming up–I suspect that we will most likely run our 6.55 mile loops as hard as we can in the hopes of beating the others time. After all, super hero cooperation only goes so far. Race amenities include a tech race shirt and a super medal.

Registered for Narberth Run

I already posted this on fb and twitter, but I’m registered for Saturday’s Narberth 5 mile run which benefits cystic fibrosis. This is a great small town race. The town really comes out and supports the runners. I last ran the race in 2008. The course is challenging with some hills and quick turns. The last mile which goes through downtown is probably my favorite part of the race–with the hills behind and the finish line in sight, there’s time to turn on the jets for a sprint to the finish.
If you’re in the Philadelphia area and looking for a race this weekend, give the Narberth Run a look. There’s race day registration and as I mentioned, the race benefits a great cause.
