Mercer Cup

November 16th, 2008 Posted in Training Runs

This morning, I met Flyers26 for a planned 10 mile run in and around Mercer County Park. At one point, we were surprised to find ourselves on the Mercer Cup Cyclocross coure. There are some great photos and a video of the event here. We changed plans to run the path and ran along the road until we were clear of the roped off course. Our modified route was a little short of 10 miles, but we were happy with the run. This was Flyers26′s last long run before the Philadelphia Marathon. He’s definitely ready for the marathon. He seems way calmer than I was before my first marathon. Good luck to all the Philly marathon runners this week as you prepare for the marathon next weekend!

Kudos !!! I know I did my 13 miles in gutsy wind out there this morning. I am glad to see that Flyer26 was much calmer and that is exactly the right frame of mind he should be in. I wish all the best to all the runners next Sunday in Philadelphia.

    You rule-breaking hooligans!!!

Glad you had a nice run. At least Flyers26 is calm. I’m already a daggone mess over here, & it’s only going to get worse.

Oh believe me, I’ve got the nerves, I just have a good poker face!

Thanks for running with me today.
Hopefully our next run will be the 5k race on Dec 6th.

Great pictures. I love the last one.

Flyers26 is beyond ready. That guy has been kicking pavements as* for weeks now.

I hope I’m as ready as he is.
