I should know better – updated 3/27

March 23rd, 2009 Posted in General, Pre-race rambling

I should know better than to look at the weather forecast for six days in the future. Things change. Well, I hope so.

The weather forecast could be better for Sunday’s Ocean Drive 10 mile race in Cape May. On a positive note, the race is a point to point from South to North. Take a look at Accuweather’s forecast:

Thursday update: The forecast is better for the race. Rain is no longer forecasted and the temperature is warmer. The wind out of the South means a tail wind.

Friday update: The forecast is worse for the race. Rain is back in the forecast. I should have known better than to post an update yesterday!

Yea, but, you know that it probably means showers, not all-day rain. All you have to do is pray to the running gods to hold off on the rain. I’ll pray to the running god for you.:)

Long-range weather forecasts are getting more accurate now, but there’s still enough time for that forecast to change! But right now I’d be worried about that wind!!

Great paces on that NYC 15K!

Well then. With THAT forecast, I’ll be running my 20 on Wednesday.

Wow, that absolutely bites big time. I have not even looked at the weather yet and I have a 20 Sunday morning. Thanks for bringing me down, man. Hopefully the weather knuckleheads are wrong as usual.

March comes in like a lion and comes out like a lamb. Hmmm! Hope the forecast is wrong.
