Sprints and trails
November 21st, 2009 Posted in Hamilton Area Trail Runners, Trails, Training RunsI had a great trail run this morning with the Hamilton Area Trail Runners. I got there just as everyone was finishing up their 50 push ups. They did a short loop while I attempted 50 of my own. They looped back and I joined them for the run. The first 30-40 minutes of the run was a series of indian sprints around the fields outside of the park. I’m definitely recovered from the marathon. The sprints were fun and I had an abundance of energy. When we finally jumped on the trails, I was unsure if my good fortune would continue. I felt strong on all of the hills. I was tired, of course, but my energy was still high. I sprinted up the last hill to the parking lot and caught up to Nate who was leading the group. The run could not have been better for me. I checked my watch when we finished. We ran for an hour or so. I forgot to start my Garmin so I don’t know the distance. It would have been interesting to look at the map of where we ran around the fields.

Great run on Saturday. I agree with you on the indian sprints around the fields, I might have died if we had to indian sprint up any hills! You should definitely come out to more, maybe I’ll see you on Thanksgiving morning!
