Winter Misery One Miler

December 21st, 2009 Posted in Virtual Club Run

Today, I participated in RunningLaur’s Winter Misery One Miler. If you didn’t run today, you can still participate through Sunday. Just run a mile and let her know your time and the temperature. As virtual run’s go, I like the one mile distance. My last virtual mile was back in May 2006, which was the Brent Mile.

My time today was considerably slower than that one miler. In case you missed it, there was a winter storm last weekend that brought a lot of snow to the Northeast. We got 12-14 inches total. My main goal for tonight’s one miler was to avoid falling on my face. The roads and sidewalks were covered with patches of ice.

Run time temperature was 31 degrees. I wore my santa hat (with headlamp), a red and white reflective top and my Winter Misery One Miler race bib. I brought along my camera to document my mile run. My time for the one mile was 14:48. I took 15 photos which works out to one per minute.

Your WMOM looks like way more fun than mine. Your photos certainly embody the spirit of the Winter Mile, if not the misery. Maybe the time reflects the misery?
