In a groove, on the grid and in the wagon

June 29th, 2010 Posted in General

Hey there. It has been awhile. I was having a good month of May and then I fell. I got a good sized bruise on my ribs which curtailed my running. Then the hot weather rolled in and it was easy not to run at all. 19 days off. I’m back running, but it’s been slow going. I’ve run 7 times this month (including the last four days in a row). It must be Summer. Tonight I ran at sunset and I got heckled on the way back home. Really, what kind of person drives by and yells F**K You? I’m 40 years old. Don’t I get a pass? Isn’t there some freshman that you can abuse?

Anyway, the good news is that I’m running again. I got back on the wagon. I’m in a groove. I’m on the grid. I’ll try not to be such a blog slacker. If you’re driving by and you see me running, I’ve prepared a primer:

encouragement and constructive criticism == good
obscenity laden tirades == bad

    Oh my goodness… sorry to hear about your bruised ribs! I always am horrified at all of the a**holes that feel free to harrass runners, cyclists, etc. You’d think that they could find better things to do with their time. Happy Running!

    Anyway glad to hear you are back! Hopefully we’ll run together soon.

    Bruised ribs sound painful. You’ll get back to where you were sooner than you think.
