Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K – Weehawken, New Jersey
April 20th, 2008 Posted in Running RacesI ran the Lincoln Tunnel challenge this morning. This is a fun race. The event raised over $100,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey. There were over 2,000 runners/walkers. It’s a unique experience. The downhills are great, but going up at the end takes some effort. There were a number of similarities between 2008 and 2006 when I last ran the race. I got lost on the way there. The weather was cold and damp. My race times are nearly identical.

Maybe by next year I’ll be able to join you for this! Is 3.1 miles equivalent to 5K? That’s how far I ran (and jogged and speed-walked…heh) Saturday for the Jersey Shore Relay for Special Olympics. Man it was tough! I didn’t think I’d make it…but the cheering people about 100 yards from the clock really helped push me across the finish line.
